Commitment
This performance explores the experience of commitment as a radical relational state. Undermining the linearity of language through repetition, association, memory and insistence, the artists attend to the movement between recurrence and occurrence and between vanishment and emergence to challenge perceptions of interdependence.
What possibilities open up when there is no certain direction but rather a wandering route? Commitment invites the audience to a spatial and temporal drift of orientation. Making use of language, voice and sound as choreographic materials, the performers situate themselves in and before the lines of their paths, of what has ended, what remains and what is still to come. Commitment is a journey, a starting point, a melodic tale, a state of flux, an inherited promise that can be broken.
